The CMRCHA Board of Directors announces the following show awards to be presented at
designated shows and at year end. These awards are in addition to the year-end class awards
presented at the Annual CMRCHA Meeting/Banquet.
1) “Central Montana Cow Work Challenge” - A cow horse saddle, built by DC Cowhorse Gear, will be awarded to the highest average of the four best Cow Work scores (out of eight possible opportunities) during the 2025 show season. The second highest average will be awarded a pair of custom chaps built by Dan Wyatt of Dillon, MT.
NOTE: The saddle and chap winners will receive a certificate to the selected vendor, specifying the dollar value of the award and saddle or chap style selected by CMRCHA. Each winner has the ability to specify seat or chap size. Should the winner want to further customize their award, they will be financially responsible for any and all costs incurred that exceed the dollar value of the award as stated on the certificate.
RULES of the “Central Montana Cow Work Challenge”:
A) “Cow Work” is defined a fence work, box/drive, or box only.
B) Scores must be in the same class. However, multiple classes may be entered.
C) Each horse/rider combination will be scored by class. Different rider/same horse and
same rider/different horse will be scored separately.
*TIE BREAKERS: First, highest individual cow score; Second, most shows attended; Third,
highest rein/cow work score.
CMRCHA is currently working on the highest and second highest awards for the four best Cow Work scores of a Montana Bred horse with the same rider aboard in a Horse Show class only.
These awards are offered to the Horse Show classes only; no Derby, Futurity or Spectacular.
2) CMRCHA will award buckles to all Derby, Futurity and Spectacular class winners at “The
Rosebud” show held in Forsyth the weekend of August 15, 16 and 17.
Details of all CMRCHA shows can be found at the CMRCHA website and on Facebook.
